Eligibility Requirements
All persons moving into TLC must be homeless according to HUD. HUD defines homelessness as individuals or families who have no access to either traditional or permanent housing i.e. they:
- lack fixed, regular and adequate night time residence
- have a night time residence that is a supervised temporary shelter designed to provide temporary living accommodations
- have a public or private night time residence that is not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation.
All persons moving into TLC must also meet the following criteria:
- Ability to provide signed documentation of homelessness by a referral source or community representative
- Must be from Lancaster County
- Must have sufficient income to pay program fees and living expenses
- Must be clean and sober and remain clean and sober
- Head of household must be eighteen years old
- Be independent, not needing care
- Applicants must be a United States citizen or have a green card
- Applicants cannot have any outstanding warrants for criminal offenses or bench warrants.
And MOST IMPORTANTLY, persons must have the DESIRE TO MOVE INTO PERMANENT HOUSING.
