Custodian for TLC & Tabor

Tabor Community Services, a non-profit community benefit organization providing programs and services to foster housing and financial stability in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified candidates for the new position of Custodian for TLC & Tabor. TLC is a division of Tabor.

 

TLC, located at 105 E King Street in Lancaster, is a 5 story, 52 unit, temporary shelter facility in the City of Lancaster providing interim housing with supportive services for individuals, families, and veterans experiencing homelessness and is home to Veterans’ Victory House. The goal of TLC’s programs is to assist people experiencing homelessness to reach their goal of safe, sustainable permanent housing.

 

The TLC & Tabor Custodian position is based at TLC, but also provides twice-weekly cleaning of Tabor’s offices at 308 E King St. Together, the work at both locations makes a full time benefits-eligible position.

Key Qualifications include:

  • At least 1 year custodial/janitorial experience preferred

  • Ability to be highly responsible and work independently with attention to detail and neatness

  • Ability to use computers proficiently for email and record keeping

  • Fluency speaking and writing English required; bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred

  • Proficiency or ability to become proficient on the risks, dangers, and safe effective use and storage of a variety of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing products in a residential environment

  • Organizational skills to efficiently manage workload and inventory of supplies

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to persons of varied economic and cultural backgrounds

  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with staff and TLC participants

TLC Case Manager

 

Tabor Community Services (equal opportunity employer) is seeking a direct-service case worker for TLC, which is a program of Tabor and home to Veterans' Victory House. Tabor is a non-profit community benefit organization providing services that foster housing and financial stability in Lancaster County, PA.

 

Tabor assists over 5,000 clients annually, has 50+ staff and an annual operating budget of $4.5 million. Tabor has served Lancaster County residents more than 50 years. Tabor's mission: To help strengthen the Lancaster County community by giving people the tools and inspiration to meet their housing and financial challenges and by revitalizing our surroundings. 

TLC is a 5 story, 52 unit, residential facility in the City of Lancaster providing temporary housing with supportive services for individuals, families, and veterans experiencing homelessness. TLC's programs assist people experiencing homelessness to reach their goal of safe, sustainable permanent housing.

Key Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field strongly preferred; Associates degree in social work or related field plus relevant experience may be considered

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred

  • Prior military experience preferred - qualified veterans encouraged to apply

  • Adherence to the Housing First philosophy of ending homelessness

  • An approach to service that is trauma-informed, recovery focused, and empowers people to resolve their own challenges to the fullest extent possible

  • Ability to establish a respectful relationship with persons served to help them gain skills and confidence

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to persons of varied economic and cultural backgrounds

  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and interface well with the staff team and other professionals who serve TLC participants
