Back to school is a hectic time for all and at TLC it is certainly no different. Currently, the number of kids at TLC is 40, with a total population of over 100 in the building. This puts a lot of work on our family case manager, Steven, but he handles it with ease. Working primarily with the Homeless Project at the School District of Lancaster, Steven and SDoL has made sure all who need to be enrolled are. So when that first day rolled around, the kids, some very excited, some not, marched off to school, adorned in their uniforms and backpacks. Let’s not forget about all the little brothers and sisters, left behind, that means A LOT of diapers and wipes. We are able to supply these items in large part because of you, our tremendous friends, volunteers, donors and TLC family that supports our programming and initiatives here.
This is also a big time of the year, because we get to thank you through our Annual Fundraising and Volunteer Recognition banquet. As in years past, this year’s event is held at the Eden, opens at 6pm, with the program starting at 6:30pm. We are very respectful of your time and will do our very best to have you out by 8:30pm. Great food and camaraderie, a few updates on TLC and the Veterans’ Victory House, volunteer awards and most importantly our participants telling their stories in their own words. Always the highlight of the evening! Please join us - you can reserve your seats online or e-mail Nate L. or call (717) 358-9377 or sponsor the event. You are making a difference by supporting TLC with your Time, Talents and Treasures and we thank you for it!
