Many thoughts are rolling through my head as I type this days before Christmas (my staff might offer this is an ongoing condition).
Thanks for the fantastic generosity shown by so many individuals and groups that have helped our over 100 participants including 40 children, enjoy the season and have something “under the tree.” We continue to be in awe of the generosity that you bring to us from near and far. Gratitude in watching our staff tirelessly, patiently wade through the multiple emotions that the season brings to all, while performing their jobs expertly—the best staff ever! Meeting new friends of TLC and hearing of offerings of help and volunteerism moving into 2017, a new year full of opportunity and hope. The camaraderie and willingness to work together, exhibited by our community partners, as we work through challenging and difficult issues in an attempt to make sure all have a roof over their head that desire it. Also their dedication to making our community safer and open to all, regardless of race, gender or economic status.
Most of all I am heartened and filled with hope hearing in the last couple of hours, that 3 of our families are moving into permanent housing and one of our participants has obtained a livable wage full time job—gifts that have no bow, but are part of our mission to all and lifelong to those who received them.
From all of us at TLC, staff, volunteers and participants, we wish you and yours a very safe and happy holiday season and may the New Year be all you desire it to be. Peace to all.
