On what was a gorgeous fall day, TLC held its annual banquet at the Eden in Lancaster. Over 270 people attended and were treated to quite an evening. The Jay and Maggie Kiralfy Community Service award went to Ebenezer Baptist Church for their decade long assistance to TLC. Our maintenance technician, George Stadler received the Award of Excellence for his service to us over the past 12 years. The William and Annetta Good Volunteers of the Year were numerous as we honored all of our “superhero” volunteers. Those great folks that volunteer between 4-30 hours each week, saving TLC over $100,000 annually. The award winners were: Karen Artuso, Frank Seidle, Kathy Cooley, Kathy Tshudy, Doug Grabosky, Larry Groff, Sherry Lookosky, Wayne King, Maggie Kiralfy and Stephanie Saar.
Thanks to all of our sponsors and generous attendees we raised approximately $60,000. As always the highlight of the evening were the stories told by the participants in their own words. You can watch these participants share their story here.
Part of a thank you note received by our staff the following morning was -
“...it was a life changing day (when we moved in), instead of our future looking dark there was a light switched on at the end of the tunnel where TLC was waiting for us. The fact that we could stay together as a family was extremely important to us because as scary as being homeless can be, losing my family was just as scary. TLC amazes us every day with their genuine care and concern they have shown us.” - AB, a family moving out at the beginning of November.
Thank you one and all.
