Small in number but mighty in spirit
For the 6th year in a row the good people of the Apostolic House of Praise in Refton, PA came to St Mary’s Church on Black Friday and distributed hundreds of care packages to those experiencing homelessness. This dedicated group, small in number but mighty in spirit, spent the year raising funds for this project. Virtually their entire congregation gets involved. They see this as a calling and they have extended their ministry to serving lunch in the city twice during the year also. Last year they served bag lunches at Musser Park on a Saturday in the summer. They are planning another service project for late February or early March. If you are interested in helping with this service project, please contact email@example.com.
Along with care packages stocked with toiletries and snacks, they purchased and distributed sleeping bags and other winter essentials. The members have connected with a number of people living outdoors and their ministry brings spiritual comfort along with helping to meet the physical needs of those who are struggling.
The Community Outreach Worker appreciates this group who is doing their part to make life a bit easier for those in need.
