Explanation of Stewardship & Donation Policy
The donations we receive from the community help to support TLC participants in their goal of obtaining permanent, sustainable housing. TLC takes pride in being good stewards of the generous monetary, material, goods, items, furniture, and food donations we receive regularly from the community for the TLC participants. Donations that we receive that are intended for all TLC participants are placed on a donation table located in the TLC common lobby, or kitchen, for all TLC participants to share. Donations that we receive that are intended for specific groups within the TLC Program (children, veterans, etc.) are carefully distributed to those groups in TLC according to the wishes and instructions of each donor.
Non-perishable items that we receive are distributed to participants as soon as possible. Any extra nonperishable items are stored and distributed by TLC staff according to the wishes and instructions of each donor. In the event TLC receives more perishable items than is needed (food items, etc.), TLC program staff distribute the donations among the TLC participants. If there are extra items we reach out to local organizations in the Lancaster community to distribute the extra items to those in need. At TLC we value the trust you place in us as stewards of the generous donations we receive from the community for the TLC Participants.
